National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia staff and volunteers have been recognised for their conservation efforts at the Rotary Club of Burnside’s annual Volunteer of the Parks and Leadership in Conservation Awards!
These awards have been presented annually since 1983 (formerly Ranger of the Year) – for 40 years. In 1988, the Volunteer of the Parks award was introduced.
About 50 people attended the presentation dinner on Wednesday, 30 April, including the Hon Dr Susan Close, Deputy Premier and Minister for Climate, Environment and Water.
Congratulations go to both Dr Shelley Paull (Marine Co-ordinator, Eyre and Far West Region) who won the Leadership in Conservation Award and Dr Peter Clements (Vice President, Natural History Society of South Australia/Wombats SA), who won the Volunteer of the Parks Award.
