Grants

National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia offers grants to Friends of Parks and Nature Member Groups for work in parks, as described below. Groups may also be eligible to apply to other grant providers.

If your Member Group is not incorporated, you will need to seek endorsement from the Friends of Parks and Nature Inc. Board, for sponsorship of your grant application.

You will need to send a draft copy of the application, including the name of the grant provider, project title, and amount being sought, at least five (5) business days before the grant closes, to Mrs. Pam Smith, Secretary, Friends of Parks and Nature: contact@friendsofparkssa.org.au  The request will go to the Friends of Parks and Nature Inc. Board Grant Assessment Team, for consideration.  If approved, a sponsor letter will be sent back to the group applying for a grant, for attaching to the application before submission.

Friends of Parks and Nature 2025-26 Grants Program – closed

A 5 year funding commitment of $3 million by the State Government is supporting volunteers with in park activities between 2022 – 2026 (inclusive). The popular Friends of Parks & Nature Grants Program is providing funding to deliver practical on-ground conservation works to support the great work that the Friends of Parks & Naturevolunteer groups do in South Australia’s National Parks and reserves.

The program emphasises conservation activities such as protecting and restoring biodiversity, preserving Aboriginal cultural heritage and undertaking European heritage restoration. These efforts span national parks, reserves and broader landscapes, and align with the objectives of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972. The program can also assist groups in the purchase of minor plant/equipment and other materials/services that support project’s conservation outcomes.
