All Friends of Parks and Nature groups contribute to making and keeping this State’s parks system great, either with one-off activities or through regular working bees. The awards program is an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the exemplary contributions groups have made in the past year.
Their projects and activities support the protection and conservation of South Australia’s environment, protecting and conserving native flora, fauna, heritage and important or significant sites.
There are five categories, with a Gold and Silver award winner selected for each. Rangers or group members can nominate their group. The winners will receive a certificate and a donation (Gold Winner $1000, Silver Winner $500) towards those groups.
The award categories are:
- Nature Foundation Habitat Restoration and Protection Award
- Wildlife Protection and Recovery Award
- Innovation Award
- Cultural and Structural Heritage Award
- Adelaide Airport Community Engagement Award
