From Volunteering SA

Last year’s Darth Vader National Volunteer Week message has been refreshed to reflect this year’s theme of Recognise. Reconnect. Reimagine. and posted on social media this week (May the Fourth!) to launch our Colour Your Community Red online campaign. This year’s theme for 17-23 May reiterates the importance of volunteers and how the sector needs to be working together to reinvigorate volunteering.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the volunteer celebrations, and I am pleased that because of you all, we have reached our COVID-19 capacity numbers for the Volunteer Thank You Parade in Adelaide on Monday 17 May 2021. The Parade which launches National Volunteer Week (NVW), is always a wonderful event and we are inviting you to be a spectator. Line the route along King William Street from the Torrens Parade Ground to Victoria Square and cheer on a volunteer. You can catch all the action from 11.00 am.

You can also join in from wherever you are, by tying something red out the front of your home or business, or wear something red during the week. Post a pic or video to socials, tag Volunteering SA&NT and use our campaign hashtags. See more in the article below.

In conjunction, we are also running radio ads on Fresh FM and FIVEaa and from this Monday, we will have posters around Victoria Square in Adelaide’s CBD. Let us know if you hear or see them by posting on socials.

There’s also a NVW poster and a range of social media info graphics available to download on our website.
