Friends of the Heysen Trail & Other Walking Trails Inc.

One of Australia's most famous long walks. Always looking for help and /or organising and running walks enquire if you are interested.

The not-for-profit organisation the Friends of the Heysen Trail (FOHT) works in conjunction with other voluntary organisations and the Department for Environment, and Water (DEW) to develop and maintain the Heysen Trail, and to promote South Australia’s 1,200 Km adventure hike.

A regular walking program occurs year-wide, with different grades of walks catering for beginners to experienced walkers. Walks are listed and bookings are done through our website.
FOHT also support other walking trails and hiking activities in South Australia, to encourage more people get out and enjoy the outdoors.
We are supported by a large group of volunteers (we are all volunteers) running our shop, administration, trail works, promotions and walk leading. The large range of Trail activities ensures a place for all those who would like to help support South Australia’s iconic Trail
