Friends of Seaweed - Limestone Coast

Friends of Seaweed, Limestone Coast (FoSLC) are group of keen beach combers and citizen scientists who foster awareness of the ecological and cultural importance of Algae (seaweed) in their local communities. Our members work together with scientists to identify, record, and monitor our important marine flora and provide data to support the ecological management of our coastal environment.

The FoSLC are a Spotters Club supported by Holdfast Limestone Coast Inc and commenced seaweed monitoring activities in Pt MacDonnell (Ngaranga) in 2024. In 2026, we plan to extend our membership and activities to other coastal towns along the South East Coast of South Australia. New members are very welcome!
