Paringa Paddocks has access (vehicles, cyclists & walkers) from the Sturt Highway, between Renmark & Paringa. Additional access for walkers / cyclists, is from the Lions Park, next to the Big 4 Caravan Park, with a walkway under the Sturt Highway. The third access is via the Murray River - by boat.
Paringa Paddocks is now part of the Riverland Parks and is in close walking distance from the Renmark Township.
Set on river floodplain, the park is popular with locals and visitors alike due to it's close proximity to Renmark and offers mainly flat terrain with extensive walking and mountain biking trails, DIY Permanent Orienteering Courses, vehicle access, views of the Paringa Bridge and Lock 5, bird watching and fishing.
In addition to the permanent wetlands in the park area, extensive works and the construction regulators allows environmental flows from the Murray River to be released at specific times to ensure unique plants, animals and the iconic landscape of the river ecosystem is sustained, with most of the water continuing to flow downstream, where it provides additional benefits to the river system.
There is a rich history, involving the many groups which traversed the River Murray for thousands of years, along with the most recent being closely linked to the history of the Renmark District
Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash (under 2 metres) and under control at all times.
