Caring for the park is the Friends of Hindmarsh Valley National Park, a group of friendly people dedicated to protecting and improving this beautiful park. Group members are all ages and come from far and wide; some live locally, while others come all the way from Adelaide to attend working bees once a month. The group, established in 2025, has been getting to know the stunning landscape within the park, along with tackling some of the issues impacting the park. There are many ways the group can be part of caring for this significant piece of land, including monitoring of flora and fauna, mapping and tackling weeds, applying for grants, learning about the park's biodiversity values and being part of a friendly group of like-minded people.
The group meets every 3rd Saturday of the month, 9:30am to 12 pm (9:00 am start in warmer weather). If you would like to join the Friends of Hindmarsh Valley National Park group, you don’t need any special skills, and we would love to see you there! If coming along, please drop Angela a message on 0430201061 (or email angelamclean@biodiversityvictor.org.au) so we know to expect you.
Next Meeting: June 20, 0930, McEwin Road Gate located just beyond 46 McEwin Road, Hindmarsh Valley (see map below).
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and drinking water (and a cuppa if you'd like to stay for late morning tea as we finish up).
