Friends of Belair National Park Inc

The Park at Belair was the first national park in South Australia, proclaimed in 1891, and being close to Adelaide, has been very popular for picnics ever since. Less well known as one of the few remaining areas of the Adelaide Hills with largely intact remnant vegetation, the park is home to many rare and endangered species and provides an important ‘stepping stone’ to other ‘islands’ of remnant vegetation throughout the Hills.

The Friends of Belair National Park have been working since 1985 to provide voluntary assistance to Belair National Park in close cooperation and liaison with the staff, and particularly to provide support for the protection and preservation of the natural and historic values of the park. We have two regular working bees for bushcare during every week and one monthly on a Saturday. We welcome visitors to hear our interesting speakers at our monthly meetings on a Saturday afternoon, and to our free guided walks on the 4th Tuesday afternoon of the month from April to November.

Further detailed information is available from our website and Facebook page and we welcome your enquiries.
